How We Assist Our Client Source Bar Materials
Sourcing across multiple product categories from China is a common headache for overseas project buyers, as that’s a really heavy task, especially for new bars or restaurants.
We just helped an Australian client handle such a sourcing project. The order covered a wide and mixed range of products, dozens of categories, including building materials and furniture, sound systems and display screens, kitchenware, tableware, and so on.Â
We coordinated with more than twenty suppliers on his behalf, freeing him from the chaos of managing everything alone.
How We Did It
The client shared his drawings and item list with us, and we clarified his needs and product positioning online before he came to China. When he was in China, we accompanied him to factory tours to finalize partners for the core items. For some simple and lower-value products, we handled with no factory visits. This saved him a lot of time and travel costs.
Throughout the factory visits, we did more than just translate. We took down critical information of the interested product on the spot, which would help us follow up afterwards.
After returning to Australia, the client could focus on his project instead of communicating with all the suppliers, 21 in final. We took care of that and updated things to him to make final decisions.
Saving Money on Certification
Initially, the client assumed no certification was required, but later he learned that RCM certificate was required. But our experience told us that some required while others didn’t, so we asked him to check again to confirm. Actually it would work without. So we proceeded without applying for the certification, which save quite an amount of money, as it’s quite expensive to get the certification.
Keeping Everything on Track
We scheduled production across all categories based on lead times, complexity, and price stability, compressing the delivery gaps to a minimum.
Once the goods were ready, we arranged quality inspections batch by batch, and checked the packaging to make sure they were suitable for ocean freight. Any defects we would require repair or replacement options and feedback to our client.
At the same time, we made proper shipping marks, which would help us counted every single item during container loading to eliminate the risk of missing or wrong shipments.
